What is High Frequency Output

https://hfoprojects.glitch.me/

High Frequency Output is a process developed by my mentor internetVin. Along with myself, Vin was also fascinated with repetition. He started his process during a year of depression, something that I could relate very closely to. Vin introduced me to the website linked above, and told me that a High Frequency Output project offered him a way to beat his depression through working. I was so inspired by this man, and we thought so similarly about everything that I decided to give it a shot. For my creative process, and attempts to improve my mental health I will create a new design daily, and then write a  reflection of my day, seeing what factors played a role in the creation of these designs. Along with this digital diary, I will also be creating a data visualization, to give context as to how many days throughout the project each emotion was felt, in the hopes to see a steady incline of more positive emotions as I continue to create. This analysis will provide input into how high-frequency output can affect someone’s life.

About Me

I am a graphic designer who is fascinated with the idea of repetition. For the last 3 years I have been uploaded daily designs to my Instagram account. I have created over 465 designs to date. Currently I am working within the Kinetic Typography field, and every day for over 3 months I have been creating an animation. I believe that this workflow, is the optimal way to learn a skill, and has been proven to improve mental health. This research is targeted towards artists anddesigners who struggle with mental health. Poor mental health is widespreadthrough the creative community, and I attribute this to having a lack ofsupport and lack of purpose. Creatives will often find themselves in this rutthrough lack of success or lack of recognition. Participating in a dailypractice can provide a system to combat these feelings. The was this works isthat every day the participant will create a piece of creative work
